Aristotle Moulopoulos
Executive Entertainment Production Specialist

Aristotle Moulopoulos is an Executive Production Specialist for the Entertainment division of Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. He joined Alive Risk in 2016 and has been instrumental in driving growth in the entertainment book of business for Alive Risk through his strategic development of agency relationships and innovative underwriting processes.

Aristotle has deep technical knowledge and experience underwriting and broking entertainment risks. He has demonstrated outstanding leadership in managing complex accounts in the entertainment industry, with risks such as rental houses, venues, event planners, DICE / feature films and large conference-style events among others.

In September 2020, Aristotle joined Ryan Specialty through the acquisition of All Risks. In recognition of her leadership and impact, Amy was honored as the 2025 Casualty Underwriter of the Year for Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers.

Aristotle has a Risk Management Insurance degree from Appalachian State University. He joined the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity at Appalachian and acts as External Vice President Recruitment Chairman.

Carrie Santonastaso
Chief Operating Officer

Carrie is the COO at Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. She joined Alive Risk from EverSports in October of 2024 and is responsible for delivering solutions, process innovation and user support for the firm’s underwriting teams to do their best work.

Carrie possesses more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She started her career with Gillingham & Associates, Inc. and found herself fascinated by the MGA/MGU operation as a microcosm of the industry. Carrie has held various leadership roles across underwriting, service and operations, always dedicated to continuous improvement.

She is responsible for innovation, strategy, and execution support. Regardless of the task, she sustains a focus on employee contentment, outstanding customer service, and compliance with underwriting and workflow guidelines. Past contributions include systems transformation projects, operational oversight of acquisition changes and Voice of the Customer implementation.

Carrie was recognized as a recipient of the 2016 Women in Insurance Leadership award. She earned a BA from University of Phoenix, where she studied Business Management and will complete her MBA through Eastern University in Dec 2025. She has also earned CIC, AIM, AU and CPCU designations.

Lowery Robinson
Head of International Business Development

Lowery is the Vice President, Head of International Prize Indemnity Development at Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. He joined Alive Risk in October of 2024 and has a focus on special events, incentive bonus, prize indemnity contingency coverages and professional sports A&H.

Prior to joining Alive Risk, Lowery spent 34+years focused on a wide array of specialty and esoteric coverages within the contingency segment, where he founded and managed his own independent MGU and was appointed Global Head of Contingency after being acquired by Everest Insurance.

Lowery holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Recreation from the University of West Georgia where he was team captain in baseball and signed with the New York Mets.

Amy Riggers
Director of Sports & Leisure Underwriting

Amy is the Director of Sports & Leisure Underwriting at Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. Amy joined Alive Risk in 2023 and has led the sports underwriting team in delivering customized and creative insurance solutions for sports and motorsports risks.

With over 29 years of industry experience, Amy brings deep expertise in the amusement, entertainment, sports, and motorsports sectors. She began her career at Alive Risk as a Senior Underwriter on the Sports and Leisure team where she played a key role in strengthening and expanding the sports portfolio. Her contributions included refining underwriting guidelines and operational processes to better define risk appetite and identify future growth opportunities. Amy now provides strategic support and mentorship to the underwriting team, enhancing consistency and performance while helping shape the growth and direction of the Alive Risk Sports program.

In recognition of her leadership and impact, Amy was honored as the 2025 Casualty Underwriter of the Year for Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University in Psychology and Criminal Justice and resides with her family in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Scott Carroll
Director of Entertainment Underwriting

Scott is the Director of Entertainment Underwriting at Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. He joined Alive Risk in 2025 and is responsible for leading the entertainment underwriting team in providing a focus on event services and live event entertainment insurance.

Scott has more than 40 years of experience in insurance on both the carrier and the broker sides having started his career at Chubb Insurance, where he spent 16 years in various underwriting and administrative roles. The latter half of his career has been in roles ranging from senior administration to specialty broker to program underwriter, most of which has been focused upon the entertainment insurance industry. Scott is a proud, long-standing member of the Event Safety Alliance having committed to the mantra of Life Safety First, since ESA’s inception as an organization dedicated to safer live events for all.

Scott has a BA degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, is married to Susan whom he met while attending college. They have three adult children. Scott and Susan recently moved to the North Shore of Boston, to be closer to their east coast-based children, after 30 years in California.

Rodney Gerbers
Director of Amusement Underwriting

Rodney is the Director for Amusement Underwriting at Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. He joined Alive Risk in 2015 and is responsible for leading the amusement underwriting team in providing a solution-based underwriting approach along with tailored coverages.

Rodney has more than 28 years of underwriting experience in developing, structuring and customizing insurance programs for the amusement industry including domestically and internationally.

Two of his 28 years in the industry, Rodney lived and worked in Sydney, Australia to co-run an MGU.  While there, he handled all aspects of insurance operations, including exceeding all premium and profit goals for the company and carrier.

Rodney is a graduate of Indiana University.

Kathryn Ryan
Global Head of Operations

Kathryn is the Global Head of Operations for Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. Kathryn joined Alive Risk in 2014 and is responsible for driving strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence across the business.

With over a decade of industry experience, Kathryn brings expertise in the E&S market, particularly within the sports, entertainment, and amusement sectors. She began her career as an associate underwriter and spent six years as an underwriter on the Sports & Leisure team. During that time, she also contributed heavily on the operations side, helping shape internal processes and collaborating cross-functionally, laying the groundwork for a natural transition into a full-time operations role.

After spending six years in the Minneapolis office, Kathryn relocated to London, where she has spent the past five years enhancing global market relationships and optimizing workflows to better support underwriting teams and carrier partners.

Kathryn holds a degree in Operations & Supply Chain Management from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was the first at Alive Risk to graduate from the corporate University Program in 2015.

Patrick Gavin
CEO & President

Patrick Gavin serves as CEO and President of Alive Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. Alive Risk is a specialty insurance leader in the amusement, entertainment, special events and sports and leisure industries with expansive brokerage access and in-house underwriting authority.

He joined the team as an underwriter in 2013 with a focus on special events. Patrick has since risen through the ranks as Operations Manager, General Manager of Programs & Specialty Risk and Managing Director. Today, he is responsible for the overall direction of business development, leveraging his global relationships with leading carriers and brokers to enhance marketing, underwriting and risk management services.

In September 2020, Patrick joined Ryan Specialty through the acquisition of All Risks. He has been instrumental in cultivating new capital relationships in addition to developing numerous new programs.

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English from the University of Minnesota.
